Measuring only 16.7mm x 2.4mm, each BION® is an injectable, single channel microstimulator that produces asymmetric biphasic constant-current pulses. Pulse width, pulse amplitude and frequency are each independently programmable. BION microstimulators receive power as well as stimulation commands via an AC magnetic link through an external coil. The devices may be used in functional as well as therapeutic stimulation activities.

The Handmaster neuroprosthesis comprises a hand-forearm orthosis containing an array of surface electrodes, connected to a portable electronic microprocessor-controlled unit.
